Water - Acrylic. This was a practice in enjoyment. When I feel like I'm losing my edge while painting commissioned works, I like to turn to the free flow of paint & brush to let my mind explore new edges. In Water, I limited myself to three tubes of paint; white, green and Golden's fluid Paynes Grey, (which is blend of colors I realize, but it leans dark blue to black. The versatility of this specific paint is mind-boggling. It is magic in a bottle). Anyway, this is the result in calm colors. To me, painting abstracts is like yoga without all the stretching and breathing. It makes my realism more real.
Joe Baltich is a veteran wilderness artist born and raised in northeastern Minnesota. Growing up on a wilderness resort which he still operates and having served as a wilderness guide, Joe developed his artistic skills and observations in his early life. He sold commissioned works that paid for much of his college education. Then, life and business got in the way and Joe took a 32 year hiatus from painting only having returned back to the brush in 2014. He now paints commissioned works with a growing art business as well as many pieces for his Inspire Wild Art Exhibit at Northwind Lodge which features the famous Painted Canoe of Ely.
